Mecure French Hotel asking me not to book as LCAH to get local offer

Mecure French Hotel asking me not to book as LCAH to get local offer
I am extremely puzzled.
Have e mail a 4* French Mercure to ask about a national offer, and to confirm if it is available in the hotel. ( it is France )
They came back and said that in-order to benefit from the offer I must book with no discounts ( ie not a member rate )
They will then add me back onto the Accor system after I check out and give me the missing points and nights !
This "saves" me about 21.50€ so I did not bother, and indeed booked elsewhere.
Has anyone else had this ?

I am not surprised by the lack of response of Accor.
I have found that if the hotel can not or will not sort out the problem ( if there is one ) at the time of our stay - then nothing effectively happens. Customer service is at the discretion of the reception ( as normally the manager is on holiday or it is a weekend or just not willing to speak .... )
