Building Work

Just checked out of an Ibis in France. They are doing renovations to the hotel, very very noisy, and no information or warning given either upon check in or on booking, and nothing on the web site.

We arrived late, asked and were given late checkout.

Woken at 8am by hammer and drilling.

Received some compensation from hotel, but point making is that no one said that this was happening, so we would have booked else where..... we only booked this the day before as travelling.

Is there a list ( have looked but not found ) of renovations being done on Accor properties - I am not against renovations - most hotels could always do with some - but I just do not wish to be in the hotel when it happens paying full rack rate for the privilege of gaining an early morning alarm call.

No there are no list.
It is the responsibility of the hotel to ensure this is displayed on the Accor website when booking.

Been to a few Accor hotels that have been in building work. No mention on any website. Checked the hotel we stayed in again today, and it still does not list any building.

I have been once twice at an Accor hotel doing renovations and this is true both time I learned it when I arrived. I might be thinking of other chains.
I know Hilton is good at that, even detailing which part of the hotel will be affected.
