You will only need 10,000 more points to reach Platinum status.

Accor Le club account hacked yesterday

Got an email from Accor saying my email had changed. When I rang to say the new email was not mine they told me 12000 points had been taken from my account. They gave me the points back and changed my email address and password. Thank goodness they told me.

Hello,

I can confirm that there has not been a data security breach at AccorHotels. You can prevent a security breach from happening by following the guidelines posted above and checking and double-checking that emails from ‘AccorHotels’ are really from ‘@accor-mail.com’.

Remember to contact customer services immediately if you note any suspicious activity and they should be able to help you.

If you have any questions or further issues, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Best,

Amy

In other words, Accor's position is that the problems reported in this thread are cases of individual accounts being 'hacked'. If that's true, and I have no reason to doubt that it is, then it's reassuring news for most of us.

Should we be especially vigilant for phishing attacks that specifically target Accor, or is this a case of criminals testing multiple email and password combinations that they've stolen from elsewhere?

To all of you that had your account hacked.
Could you check your browsig history if you had visited a site
accorshotel.com rather than the official Accor site www.accorhotels.com

I found this in my browsing history and not sure if this is the phishing site.

I don't think you need to be concerned.

Angry Le Club account hacked 4,000 point exchanged Feb 09

The list of those with hacked accounts seems to be growing. Reported today to Accor Le Club.. instant redemption and used in Shanghai. Accor Le Club said email telling me I had made the redemption was a scam/phishing email but I validated it as being from Accor. I will wait like the others to see that the points are returned.

Hello KINCHAN,

I would urge you to contact customer services as quickly as possible as they are the only ones who will be able to assist you with this matter. If you notice any suspicious activity on your account or if you suspect that your account has been hacked, please remember to follow these security steps:

1. Immediately change your password and choose a new and secure password:
a. Use letters, numbers and symbols
b. Do not use words that are too simple
c. Must contain at least 8 characters
d. Chose a password that you can easily remember
e. Opt for a different password for each of your accounts (loyalty schemes, bank account, email, website logins etc.)

2. Notify customer services immediately. They will ask you for a declaration on your honour indicating that you did not carry out the unauthorised action.

3. Finally, remember these security guidelines:
a. Do not tell anyone your password
b. Regularly change your password
c. Take care to verify the origin of any Accor emails: we use the domain @accor-mail.com. If in doubt, contact customer services.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Best,

Amy

Dear Ms.Amy,

Thank you very much for your information.
Actually I have already send a message to Accor via Facebook.
Just checked web site and I got courtesy bonus on 25/FEB.
Thank you very much!

I recommend Accor NOT to use e-mail address as login ID.
Now United, Delte, Hilton bans to use e-mail.
This helps reducing hacking.

Best Regards,

Kinchan

I have received an email stating I had redeemed 2 hotel vouchers of 4000 points which I had not. At first, I thought it was an IT glitch but after seeing this thread I suspect I might have been hacked. Strange thing was that happened today when I checked out of one Accor hotel in Rome. I have reported to Accor Plus but their office hours are over. Any way I can expedite the matter?
