Or on the rooftop. I had mine there. I booked a room for 2 people, came with my daughter too and voucher mentioned 3x. We all had a mocktail of lemongrass and lime on the rooftop. (will report more on the hotel. When I get back home)

Drink voucher policy : 1 or 2 pax ?

Does anybody know if there is an official Accor policy regarding the drink voucher (valid for 1 or 2 guests) ? I'm currently staying at Mercure Abbeville centre. 2 rooms (1 single room and one double room) booked by 2 plat card holders. 2 drink vouchers given at check-in (usable for soft drinks, beer and wine) but when using them at the bar, we were charged for the 3rd drink. Asking the receptionist, I was told that there was no mistake. Even in case of double occupancy, the drink voucher is valid for one person only :td: I was told also that they had some cases with a platinum member having booked 5 rooms and having drink vouchers for everybody occupying the 5 rooms and that was not sustainable and so the policy has changed  I said that our case was certainly not comparable with such a case as we have 2 roomsm, each booked by a platinum member and that it is the 1st time we are facing this. But they did not accept.
Am I facing another inconsistency and "local resistance" or are they right and I was just lucky in other hotels I stayed in ?

I can't find anything specific in the "Member Experience Handbook" (to be found somewhere online ;)).
However, I would strongly argue that plat benefits generally should apply to the whole room (i.e. for 2 people, if there are 2 people in the room). I've never experienced my +1 not being allowed in the lounge, for example.

I do have a faint memory of not always getting 2 drinks vouchers, but i've never actually encountered a bar-man refusing to serve 2 free drinks when I turned up with a voucher.

Other hotels just gave 2 vouchers, even if I turned up alone, simply going by: The room has space for two, so benefits apply for two (^^)

However, the whole drinks voucher system definitely is a bit inconsistent, with some hotels just giving a drink (and no voucher) upon check in, others limiting it to soft drinks, or soft drinks and beer, etc. etc.

My experience is the higher end Accor brands are a little more generous with the voucher interpretation, Novotel and Mercure often restricting it to a drink for one person down to Ibis where I can't recall ever being offered a drink voucher.

Within this generality I've stayed at Sofitel hotels where no voucher at all was offered whilst at another Sofitel being offered a voucher for 4 people (two rooms booked) without even asking.

The marginal cost to a hotel of providing as a minimum a voucher for 2 persons occupying a room is small. The flip side to me as the guest is a small gesture of generosity at check in makes me instantly (albeit in a small way) positively inclined towards the particular hotel. When the hotel is penny pinching in this area the reverse applies. This initial impression personally influences how likely I am to make further use of a hotels bar, eat in house etc rather than go out instead and not incur further spend in the hotel.

I don't know if others react like me when hotels interpret the drink voucher being for only one person when it is double occupancy but in my case it is usually a false saving for the hotel as it effects what I later charge to my room during a stay.

All of my stays are in the UK and are mainly Ibis or Mercure and I have always received two vouchers when checking in if there are two of us. There was one Novotel I didn't get one but I believe only one level of LCAH gets a voucher there.

There is also only one time this year that I have not been allowed whatever I wanted to order.

I fully agree with you and I react the same way.

It's not just Accor. Certain IHG properties are the same. It is rather annoying but generally I can guilt them into giving me a second one if there's someone standing right next to me looking them in the eye.

silver here and stayed at the Sofitel Brisbane central

Two drink vouchers were provided, and were valid for any drink at the bar. We arrived really late at night and didn't use it, but had no problem trading it for coffee the next afternoon right before we left.

Got a drink voucher earlier this week for 2 at the Novotel Warszawa Centrum so consistently inconsistent!

Just bottled juice in different Novotel or Grand Mercure in mainland China. Not worthy at all, preffer the bottles of water in the room.

Only time i have ever been given only one voucher is if for some reason the number per room has reverted back to one whilst bookin. We were once given 4 vouchers at the Ibis Adelaide and last twice we've been to Sofitel Gold Coast they have given us two drinks on redemption of 1 voucher for some reason even though we were given two vouchers Consistently inconsistent it seems across the board !

Poland seems to be on the ball with regards to this benefit as we got a voucher for 2 at the Ibis Krakow Stare Miasto when checking in.
