Well, I have received this e-mail too. My friend signed up on April, and she stayed in Novotel Nusa Dua on May. Her points have already earned, but I didn't received any so I emailed to Advantage Plus, and here is the forwarded message from Accor helpdesk :

We would like to inform you that clients do not earn points if they indicate somebody to be an A|Club member. If there is some local promotion, please ask the customer to provide more information about it.

well, I received the e-mail with the promo in december, referred my parents and last week - 3 month after they had their first stay, received 200 points... why 200 and not 300, I dont know.
