OK. I guess I see these as being two different things. I was looking at this as an upgrade to a higher fare type ticket. And you are looking at it as a rebooking situation which then refers to the refund rules which let you apply the nonrefundable amount to a new explorer ticket.

As for the rest of my confusion, looking back on the previous posts I'm not sure I understand myself what it was.
