It should. Within Star Alliance it is usually the metal which counts. Within QFF it is the flight number which counts.
A QF flight number on OZ metal gives you status credits, same for other code shares. AA codeshare on CX metal gives you the AA points, not the CX. The only exeptions to this are really funny things like QF flight numbers for German train services etc.
