Also even if the flight does to earn SC - if it's in economy - only Y class earns "full economy" SC - other economy classes are "discount economy".
There are no exclusions listed in the T&Cs for AA travel unlike certain other carriers , so there is no reason why it would be excluded

For economy travel , it would indeed earn at discount rate ( unless in Y ) since it is not an Australian Domestic service
