Here is the latest from Morningstar, an excerpt from their report on Sun:

Despite the solid operating margins, we remain disappointed by the lack of overall sales growth at Sun. Particularly disappointing was a 10% decline in data-management products, which we believe is largely due to the StorageTek subsidiary, which makes tape drives for data center storage. Sales growth from other segments didn't impress us either, as computer systems grew 2% and total services revenue grew 3% from last year. We believe that Sun actually lost server market share in the quarter as units declined 15%, much more than recent results from IBM.

While I am glad Sun has recently returned to some profitability, perhaps more adult supervision is required of its workforce. If the workforce can't all fit in the building, then maybe there's too many of them. It's well known that most of the work is done by a few in most organizations, while the others hide. Home is a good place to hide.

One should not goof off when in the office either. If one does, due to the temptations, then I submit that these temptations are greater at home. As for the bosses of TC'ers, they are just another part of the scam.

In any case, let me put my goof-off hat on and get back on topic. If I were a TC'er, and hence a slacker, I would pick a location where I could realize my hedonistic and slacker temptations. This would be in places like Las Vegas, Monaco, Paris, Zurich, etc. In general places where I can gamble, womanize, enjoy fine dining, etc. San Miguel de Allende would also be nice, as there is a tauromaquia school nearby where I could take some lessons during my goof-off time, and actually get paid for goofing-off. Who'da thunk?
