More annoying to me are "Wonder bread" bagels - that is, bagels that are nothing but a soft roll with a hole in the middle. It hard to get a proper bagel (i.e., boiled,
then baked) anywhere around here anymore. You might try The Bagel, 3107 N. Broadway. Otherwise, you may have to schlep to Skokie!
I've been lucky enough to have friends bring me bagels from Montreal twice in the last few months! ^
