In general, most WM customers will use cash to buy a MO or load a card, but if they are using a credit card or another type of debit card, they will only swipe once.

If you have time to observe a busy CSC at WM, you will note that most customers do not use multiple swipes to buy a MO. Many WM cashiers staffing the CSC know when an MSer is attempting to load a card or buy a MO just by the fact that someone is funding the load/purchase with multiple swipes.

This can extend into grocery chains that allow MO purchases as well. There are DPs out there for people being asked to show the debit card they are using to the cashier.

But, if you're careful and find the right service people, you can do up to 4 swipes at WM for loads and MO purchases, presuming the cards are accepted by the register.
