This is the standard in cruising too.
I was on a cruise not too long ago, and standard (the generally suggested) tips were included in the cruise price. There were no tipping envelopes in the room.
I view these tips the same way that I view restaurants which add a tip to my check. As the linked article says, this is nothing more than the owner trying to offload part of its labor cost to the customer. I don't patronize restaurants which add automatic tips to the check. I don't mind a hotel or restaurant providing a tipping by QR code
option. However, I will not patronize a business which tries to enforce mandatory tipping.
