Have made comments to CX and let them know that if there's another premium airline serving the same route around the same time (such as SQ), lounge comfort is a big factor in the decision. The ball is in CX's court to evaluate: are these just loud complaints from a few and most premium flyers are happy to stay with CX, or, do these complains represents enough premium flyers that lounge changes would entice them to fly with CX more offsetting potential losses in devaluation of SL lounge benefits? The most likely scenario is not denied SL lounge access completely but make some limitations and adjustments. But unfortunately, no access is on the table.
Re toe-to toe topic, there is an easy way to solve: introduce SL or oneworld member only lounge.
SQ or QR is doing so.
For the lounge usage growth issue, we cannot eliminate JL lifetime JGC and AA "dunno why always challenge" platinum pro.
CX did not realize because of the frequency reduction on connecting flights, people "have to" use lounge for a longer time.
