There used to be some rule before where in if a transit exceeded 8 hours then the airline would need to sort out a hotel stay for that duration. Assuming there's no other earlier connection.
Of course, not sure how much that applies these days for LCC's. And in this case it's a mixed itinerary-partially Full service and partially LCC.
Did you try calling them to see if they can put you on another flight? Fight with them that 8 hours is unacceptable and escalate to the supervisor... that may (or may not) get you a better outcome.
