I ended up to book the flight through the US website. When it comes to payment you select option "hold". Then you have 24 hours time to sort it out. However, I was at that time in call with an AA customer service agent. So I had to give him the credit card information through the phone. Normally, that's many red flags thrown but I had no other options. I agree they should test their infrastucture from time to time. Ask the customer how is the statisfaction with their website. Even BA has their issues from time to time. There are many examples how it could be and how you should treat your loyal customer. I mean they buy your services. If I wouldn't be in one of the OW alliances loyality program I would book the flight somewhere else.
