It actually shows my wife (gold) a lower rate for the exact same stay as mine (platinum) - has anyone come across this before? I would like to book via my Bonvoy as I hold higher status but I obviously don’t want to pay more …

In Dubai, you might do well to book whichever of your wives is offered the lower rate. Maybe help one of them, your Gold wife, get higher status?
On the other hand, lounge access and breakfast are worth something. Maybe worth paying a bit extra?

Absolutely no rudeness was intended whatsoever. To the contrary, perhaps I displayed too much grammatical

and cultural sensitivity, especially following Eid. But if you personally were offended, I apologize.
As for "total unhelpfulness", it is a best practice for two travelling companions to both have Marriott
BONV°Y accounts, to maximize welcome benefits or for stays at two properties on the same night, among other contingencies.
See, e.g.
Welcome Amenity .
You are right, I did not see the disparate account display issue, but had already upvoted comments immediately following mine, including the one not to pay more.
