Whether or not engagement is down, this doesn't seem to be such an important issue from IB's standpoint. I sort of get it; they want to be able to bring traffic to those "where's the best place to sit on a 737?" threads. Perhaps, more importantly, since they own dozens of forum websites, overly customizing them to the whims of disparate groups might correlate with higher costs and more complicated bug fixes.
In any event, I've moved on from reminiscing about the old trending page and am now looking forward to seeing (and opining on) its replacement.
