UA provides the "PlusPoints" upgrades for lifetime Platinum and 1K MM levels. I assume Delta will be competitive with UA on MM status and offer the Choice Benefits as well. Lifetime PM or DM is much less valuable without Choice Benefits. I also know several MMs on UA and DL who never bother to use the UA PlusPoints or even select the DL Choice Benefits.
