The terms have a set of table that specify what benefits lead to what compensation (including walks). Most properties it's a genuine oversight of the FDC. Most wouldn't press the matter until there are a series of issues on top of the benefit mistake. When it's clear the property is flouting terms, go for it. Just expect your blood pressure to rise and for management to refuse in such cases. Corporate won't do anything to help you. They may be Marriott's terms, but Marriot's customer is the hotel, not you.
