(Mods, quotes are from a different thread, thought this post would be more pertinent to this thread, my apologies if this post belongs elsewhere.)

We cannot directly select a Statement date. If you are editing a personal account the difference between the Statement and Due date is 25 days. Business account is 22 days. I have all our accounts set to generate statements on the 3rd, which means Due on the 25th (business) or 28th (personal).
Understood, thank you. Not sure why I couldn’t figure that out, I’ve clicked on More > Update Settings and Preferences many times and never noticed > Payment due date (even though it’s at the top of the drop down menu). Maybe so focused on “closing date” skimmed right past it.

I have all my accounts set to close (and generate a statement) on the 2nd so that each statement lists a calendar month’s activity.

A downside to the 2nd or the 3rd is that a Chase SUB could be considered as having posted a MONTH later compared to a closing day of the 27th or 28th which would only actually be 4-6 DAYS earlier. Although Chase may calculate 24 and 48 months since prior SUB to the day, I prefer to calculate it by the month “just to be safe”. Thus, for me, a SUB received on the second is essentially a month later than if received 4-6 days earlier.

(Might be crossover thinking from pilot requirements. Some state “preceding 90 days” (day and/or night landings) but some, more concerning requirements, state “within the 6 calendar months preceding the month of the flight” (IFR currency) and some state “medical certificate is valid for the remainder of the month of issue; plus xx calendar months” and some state “within the preceding 12 calendar months” (annual aircraft inspection). Thus, for some pilot requirements May 1/May 31 would have the same expiration but May 31/June 1 would have expirations a MONTH apart and with careful management “annual” can easily (and legally) become 12.97 months.)

Another question which might be obvious for some people but I’ve never been able to find the answer. Is there a way to see online the first statement closing date for a new Chase card?

Datapoint along these lines: New Chase Hyatt personal card, approved ~2 weeks ago, asked when first statement date would be, told May 2nd. Initially quite pleased as I thought it would save a call to change it to the 2nd. Then realized since my plan is to churn this SUB every 25-27 months, I’d much prefer to the SUB to post on May 28th instead of June 2nd. (Plan to meet minimum spend with mostly organic Hyatt spend, impossible to do so by April 28th.)

Card received and verified yesterday. Then called Chase last night April 27th at about 10 or 11 PM EST to change closing date. First agent said and insisted repeatedly first statement would be June 2nd, HUCA. Next 2 agents had very heavy accents, I thought my request would be difficult to communicate, HUCA x 2. Asked next agent to confirm 28th as latest possible closing date, asked to change to the 28th, then remembered that sometimes Chase SUBs and points can take 2-3 days to post to the affiliated program, asked to change it to the 27th. Agent said done, will take 1-2 billing cycles to become effective, will get first statement May 2nd, next statement May 27th (which was my expectation). Lo and behold, logged in a few hours later, at perhaps 1 or 2 AM EST on April 28th and see (new, first) statement balance of $8xx.xx. In other words, the change to closing date became effective with an hour or 2 and resulted in a statement an hour or 2 later. (I think I actually prefer that to May 2nd then May 27th, gives me more confidence there will be a May 27th statement instead of the change taking another billing cycle resulting in a June 2nd statement.)

Datapoint part deux along these lines: Just logged into my account. Did More > Update Settings and Preferences > Payment due date for multiple accounts, saw the images/screenshots below (as applicable).
