I was booked with SkyMiles LHR-SEA-SNA (all DL operated) in Premium Select (main for the domestic leg). DL21 from LHR to SEA cancelled (auto rebooked onto next day LHR-MSP-SNA, DL operated) so I called and was rebooked to VIR105 LHR to SEA and DL SEA-SNA same day as originally scheduled.
My question really is, since award tickets normally only earn MQM/MQD when on DL Metal, can I use ORC to get MQM for the Virgin Atlantic leg.
Boarding pass shows Premium/G for the LHR-SEA leg and Y for SEA-SNA.
I don't see why not, your email to Delta should be about one sentence long: 'My booking on Delta flight 21 on xx/xx/xx was cancelled and i was rebooked on Virgin flight 105, please give me original routing credit for the flight I originally booked that was cancelled.'
