Wanting more statuses or more pathways to status strikes me as silly given that Marriott is unable or unwilling to compel delivery of the benefits of status.

What difference does offering Lifetime Titanium or Lifetime Ambassador or Lifetime Unobtanium Exalted Monarch of Marriott make if hotels will continue to have carte blanche to ignore all the benefits they're supposed to provide?
