Obviously you know the government cares naught for individual people by now, if you've been there for a while. This is nothing new, and in line with everything the Chinese government stands for.
I saw one poster who said wife stayed behind cause of work. Why? Why would you? So what about work?
Are the expats in Shanghai not financially well off that they were talking about saving some money on flights? If the situation is so bad why bother thinking about the upgrades to business?
I know when I was travelling when COVID broke March 2020 that I didn't care about flying in a premium class, and the amount of money required to get a ticket wasn't anywhere near the top of my mind.
This is a pretty weird question/rant when the Chinese govt who 'obviously' don't care about their people have limited the Covid death toll to 4,000.
Why haven't people 'gotten out' back to the US where the gubbermemt who cArEs DeEpLy about their people has allowed a million people to die? It is a mystery, can't put my finger on it 🤔
Even though it's obvious you're not asking this in good faith I'll answer anyway. I've been here 12 years, my life is here and that's about it really. Although they fcked up in Shanghai I'd honestly rather stay here and risk going a bit hungry for a few days than going to the UK or the US and dying 🤷♂️
