In your experience, have they made up for this in other areas such as providing a spending credit to use during your stay, or upgrading you to a Suite (or are they also stingy on suit upgrades?)
Thanks
I had not been aware that Edition is one of those sub-chains that does not recognize Elites when I stayed at the Times Square Edition. Ahead of my subsequent trip to NYC, I booked a couple of rooms, called the hotel and spoke with the front desk manager to express that I would like to re-visit their hotel but only if they would agree to offer the complimentary breakfast. He refused and we stayed elsewhere.
This past July, we (my family) decided that it would be fun to try out the Miami Beach Edition. I had a similar discussion with their front desk manager who immediately offered us a $60/room credit per day ($120 daily credit in total). He also upgraded our rooms for about half of the cost difference between the rooms we booked and the ones we were hoping for. We had a wonderful stay.
Conclusion: I suggest getting in touch with the specific hotel and seeing if they can be persuaded to offer you something. I am batting .500 so far ...
