have you thought about simulations to check how much you will gain with these 4 trips per year ???
You can then determine how much it will cost you to earn enough miles to redeem for trips you want
If you can get your hands on tons of cheap AF/DL miles and find sweet spots to redeem for awards then why not

Flying Blue has the benefit of being able to double dip by also earning Accor Live Limitless rewards also.
Better than nothing , it is true that rates are not as bad as in other cases , however i wouldnt count on it , unless you are a big spender at accor (over 20k$/year)

No , as explained earlier by beachmouse , so only transfer amex rewards when needed and keep flying regularly
