The Hilton Diagonal (as per
enviroian'spost) is a lot closer to the airport than the 4P, so not a good comparison.
But all taxis are required to accept credit cards, and of course a tip is never to be expected (it's up to you if you want to round up to the next Euro or so).
Looks like you've found one of the few cowboys out there, most taxi drivers in Barcelona are very correct.
