One time they walked me to passport control but left me at the back of the TSA line. But mostly the lanes are so narrow that the escort has to push and shove everyone to make room to go through, and personally that makes me very uncomfortable and I find it really rude to other people.

AF uses that service since some time for its Premiere customers. Just beware that at certain times "the dog is out", which means that the special channel is closed because the sniffer dog is out going through the lines (going through the special channel would mean you'd avoid the dog).
Thanks! I had no idea, I haven't flown La Premiere from JFK in the past 2 years or so.

You needed to ask for it in the lounge in Paris. When I did it at first they kind of pretended they didn't know what I was talking about, then told me they don't have any left but will check, and they finally brought one an hour later. Looks like several other people here had a similar experience
