I had another flight a couple of days ago. Arrived in BKK, once again, tags remained but my bags came off around halfway through the J bags. So from most of my experiences the tag has not played a part in the priority. I have only noticed tags ripped off when flying with others and their tags have been removed when utilising my benefit.
