Well the changes at UA are driving me to AA as my preferred carrier. UA devalued its MileagePlus program; changed how you upgrade internationally and then completely killed their elite program (my view) so I'm done. I've put up with years of lackluster performance and poor customer service because of the merger and I'm done. My 1K status is NOT worth $18,000 - they just aren't that good. Nothing has changed to make the value proposition there.

I know AA has significant problems but I suspect there will be a change and I can only hope they won't follow the path of UA. Call me naïve or overly wishful but that's what I hope. AA does lots of things better than UA right now and I always find the FAs very accommodating. I enjoy my time flying which is more than I can say on lots of UA flights.
