I was able to convert an 830T to a QP99 today by calling the Ambassador line. The agent canceled the 830T, credited the 45K points, removed 165K points, and issued a QP99 with an extension date of a year from now. The agent had never done one of these before and seemed to know very little about it but she contacted her support desk and it all went rather smoothly.
