Another DP - Called a couple of days back to extend my NC 1-4 certificate by another year which was set to expire end of August. marriott rep, placed me on hold for 5 mins, and then issued a new cat 1-4 certificate into my account. I could clearly see that my marriott point balance went down by 45k points. Checked the history and available certificates into my account, I could now see total 2 certificates (1 with the new 2020 expiry date, and the other one with the old 8/302019 expiry). So in short, Marriott rep just issues a new Cat 1-4 certificate for me using my 45k points, but didn't extend the previos one.

Not sure if its a blessing inn disguise as i just scored another Cat 1-4 certificate for just 45k points? has this happened with anybody else? What is the general consensus on this, should I just keep both certificates or marriott can cancel it at later stage? ALso, i believe I can just call in again, and just request to extend my expiring certificate now without even talking about the new one if I don;t intend to cancel that?
