I have been legacy MR platinum for 10 years and I also don’t recall getting upgraded at MR properties in mainland US other than Marriott Fremont when it first opened. I also never had much luck in EU, either. But I have been mostly upgraded in Asia with the exception of JW Seoul which never upgraded me.
