I just found out that as of August 18, you no longer get night credits for multiple rooms booked at the same property for the same nights. For example, if I were on a family vacation and I booked two rooms for the same dates, I used to be able to collect "qualifying night" credit for both rooms towards elite status (but I believe 1 stay for both rooms), but now I would only get night credit for one room.

The folks on SPG social media confirmed this. Is this correct? It would be bizarre to have this new rule for 2018 (I get it if it's for 2019), as in 2018 you could still qualify for Plat with stays (sadly I always qualify with nights).

Thoughts appreciated. Thank you.
This is confirmed. There is no functionality in the system we now use for posting extra rooms as separate stays and nights. All of the charges for extra rooms are now only able to be posted to your room only.
