The problem is Javascript embedded into an innocuous-looking ad. IB approves the ad, thinking it's OK, then its true nature only becomes apparent when the payload is deployed. I'm somewhat sympathetic to IB's plight, since
everyone is suffering, even major publishers.
I think RandomBaritone’s post was lost in the barrage of complaints on Jan 12, but his link goes to a very informative Wired Magazine Article about this very problem.
In the meantime I will be using the App Who Shall Not Be Named (it works). If FT/IB ever fixes this problem I’ll be happy to disable it, but not until then.
