With the above, I would guess that even if you cancel CC, but your companion cert expiration is still 10 months ahead in future, then your cert is still valid despite the CC no longer in existence?

The person meets you with cash for the companion pass (& ticket if you so choose) and a public place with wifi (like Starbucks for instance). You book the tickets for them, give them the conf code, boom its done.

I don't recommend doing it in any manner than face to face.
