I found pretty much that each pt comes out to bet .005 and .0055 each. Now if its a good rate for all pts depends on already knowing what Cat the hotel was previously and what it cost in pts prior to 3/1. An example an HGI I stayed at on pts was 20k every time although it was a Cat4 = 20-30k (guess I was always there during low season reason why it was 20k) when looking at any date upcoming it was 23k = 3k more due to the rate of $110, but yet not at its cap of 30k. On the other hand another I stayed at was 40k (a Cat5) but usually with rates < $100 so now I saw it for 19k reflecting the < $100 rate for the night in question

Never did C&P so I will go with most posters who did them and now say by and large the $ portion is alot more when using the same amount of pts as they did prior to 3/1

Now although that DT was 19k it may save 21k in pts but with the < $100 rate it doesnt save me anything since Hilton simply multiplied the rate x .005/.0055 so either way it costs the same. The only real savings IMO is you find a hotel that has a rate that when multiplied by .005 works out to need more pts then its cap eg a Cat10 is capped @ 95k = $475 so if that hotel is say charging $500 a night and has standard rooms for 95k then you will cashout at a better rate then .005. Or a person wants to take leave of Hilton then 19k for that < $100 room is a good deal as well. But if theres a promo on going then you need to figure out how many pts you will be giving up by not paying $$ and using the pts instead.
