It is still is bookable at 10k, but quite a few dates are not available which I hadn't seen before. Cash rates seem to have jumped on some dates too, 20th May for example is £254!
Every hotel in Newcastle that weekend is either £200+ a night or fully booked and have been for months.
In terms of how busy it is it's probably second only to the great north run weekend.
Major events normally tend to fill hotels and six rugby matches within forty eight hours is probably a major event.
