That particular hotel is known for sticking to a one-category upgrade rule for Diamonds. I can't complain too much...my C&P stay there was in some basic room type and I was on (or maybe one floor above?) the lounge floor. But I remember them citing the 1-category rule when I asked about other room types. This was at check-in in the lounge itself, since Diamonds can skip the front desk.

Just something to keep in mind if classic is technically a downgrade from superior.
