According to one poster, we Marriott Plats are all Fake Plats. The poster pops up on threads with posts about how SPG Plats are better, smarter, faster, more sophisticated, importanter, richer, holier, and more pure than the unwashed masses that are Marriott Plats. The poster seems to think that after the merger, SPG Plats will be a different, higher level than us Marriott hicks who will be relegated to a subservient recognition.
That particular poster made it to my ignore list in record time, but I gather there's any underlying sentiment held by more than just that one individual. I've recently made a turn away from Marriott (and I'll be posting about that soon), and have been spending some time in the SPG forum. Pretty sure I saw the term "Marriott Kettles" used recently!
