Agreed. If I book a hotel suite, I get a personal email from the concierge. A simple "if you need anything prior to your journey, contact me" email would really put a bow on it.
I called the regular AF line to verify something regarding my trip today, and got a fairly indifferent agent. Definitely a gap in quality until you arrive at the airport apparently.
