I wasn't just talking about men's flip flops. I hate having to look at other people's feet in public (male or female, grimy or clean, manicured or callused, hairy or not), especially when I'm eating (whether it's on a plane or in a restaurant). However, flip flops are particularly offensive since they make that disgusting sweaty suction sound when people walk

and are more prone to showing off the dirty bottom of people's feet than women's open-toe shoes or strappy sandals.
