The new layout is all form over function. Fortunately it only affects the personal log in. If you have a business log in and a personal log in, move all your personal accounts to under the business log in then you would get back the old layout for good.
The old layout let you see the vital information of ALL cards at the opening screen - everything important at a glance - the new layout makes you to click open each card in order to see the vital info of that particular card. Very annoying.
On top of that we have found out that if you are using an iPad to access the
personal log in - you are automatically redirected to the mobile site which is utterly useless because you could not see any details other than the outstanding balance. On top of that, when you try to send a SM, Chase literally tells you to go to a computer for that function. There is no access to online statements or activities.
Last month during a long trip we needed the BA card number in order to cancel an Avios booking but could not get to the BA card statement to retrieve the info (we did not bring the card with us on the trip). At the end, Chase rep told us to find a computer so have access to the online statement and of course the account number is on the first page of the statement.
Fortunately we were at Park Hyatt Sydney when we needed to cancel the BA tickets for a departure in a few days. The concierge staff was very understanding and extremely helpful (he called Chase on our behalf from his phone then handed the call to us.) He opened the business center at 9:30pm so we could access a computer to get the info and then cancel the BA tickets.
Business log in is not affected - iPad can access the full function. I only have business log in but unfortunately we did not bother to merge DH's personal accounts to his business accounts in the past. Then we found out the huge drawback on this trip.
When we returned home, one of the first few things to do was to drop by a Chase Branch to get DH's personal accounts moved under business log in. You can perform this by calling web support but it is much easier to let the banker handle this directly from the system accessible from the branch. At least that was told to us by a Private Client banker (we are not Private Client but at the branch this guy came out to help us opening the $15K/ $200 bonus Saving Accounts.) The banker said the reaction to the new layout is very mixed. Many people dont like it. Chase currently has no plan to "enhance" the business log in. We hope that would be the case as Chase may not want to irate the business customers by this "enhancement".
