i pitty rides in the morning and afternoon although perhaps high enough that it will still be too expensive for some from the stations closer to the city.
either way, i don't think this is good for visitors because frankly, people in Toronto are rude as hell on transit during rush hour. worse than most cities i have been in....
Not even close - I could name tons of places with worse commuters than Toronto (and I say this as a Toronto commuter who has suffered through it for many years!) In the big scheme of things most Toronto commuters are civil and as respectful as they can be in close quarters (including, for the most part, acceptable personal hygiene which has not been my experience in some cities around the world!) People form some sort of queue when waiting for trains, and I don't see people verbally abusing transit staff very often (but have seen horrific treatment of transit staff in other cities).
