You mentioned DFW - ORD, at least during meal time they serve meals on that route. For a little longer flight from DFW - MKE, you get NOTHING! AA is inconsistent and when you do get food it is awful anyway.
DFW-ORD is published as an exception market where meals are served although they would not qualify based on distance alone.
