I just applied RUC's to PWM-ATL-MBJ (and back) for both my wife & I in Jan. Incredibly, the two MBJ segments had open inventory so we cleared immediately and I've been wait-listed (allegedly) for the PWM-ATL & ATL-PWM segments. On the website I do not have duplicate seat maps for the wait-listed segements which makes me nervous but I do see split reports here on FT about that. I went through this same process last year and it was opposite, the PWM legs cleared immediately and we were waitlisted for the MBJ. That time I did have the "ghost" or duplicate seat maps appearing the whole time and we cleared at the gates.
I just tweeted DLAssist to ask if they can confirm inventory on the other segments and if not to confirm I've been wait-listed appropriately.
I wish this process was clearer.
Update, we are now cleared on all segments. I have been tweeting DL assist once a week asking if there is any open RUC inventory for the one seg that wasn't clear and today they magically said "yes there is, we'll move you now" and BAM. But, I had to stay on top of it. Just because you are on the wait-list doesn't mean you will automatically clear if inventory opens up. Total BS but glad I managed the process appropriately.
