Quite correct. PLT milage earned is now crap. EXP not much better. A typical coach ticket to Europe (R/T DFW-LHR is 9500 miles) will earn 8x$1000 (the other $500 being taxes) = 8000 miles (11000 EXP) instead of 19000 under the old system.

After the devaluation of miles, you are still worse off.

If you pay for business tickets you will come out with more miles (e.g., 44k instead of 32K miles for a R/T DFW-NRT).
