80K Aeroplan miles? Lol no, try more like 110K Aeroplan miles maybe.
Air China does not have "Business Class" within China even though the plane is really a 2 class aircraft but you will still have to pay for "First Class" regardless and that will be 110K miles, thank you very much.
Ridiculous? Yes, it is. Does Aeroplan care?
Non, absolutely not. As far Aeroplan is concerned, we are just a bunch of crazies talking on the internet that has no resemblance to its actual customer base. In the mind of Aeroplan executives, their customers are the most docile, gullible and simplest persons ever - just put a TV ad here and there, voilą! No need to even disclose the kind of
fees uh... "taxes" (within the published award charts) they are expected to pay in order to try to redeem their miles. Oh and they expire within just a year if you bank there for more than 365 days without touching them even though no other well known FFP have such anti-consumer policy. Gotta love the shortermism of these executives, because if there is any problem within 3-4 years, it will be someone else's problems, not theirs because by then, they will already off the plane with their golden parachute.
