They're not set up to do this on board, but I've been offered inexpensive upgrades at the gate more than once. (Not just me. I've seen signs on the podium, offering for example Y->J NRT-LAX for $600. Might make the folks who paid for J ahead of time mad, but most of them are reimbursed by anonymous stockholders anyhow so they probably don't care much.)Originally Posted by flipstah
