I did get into the Virgin Clubhouse once, forgot what I was flying on, but it wasn't Virgin. Anyway, it's a half-open-air lounge and the interior is rather nice. Food variety and taste was quite decent.

VS is not part of Skyteam but DL owns 49% (I think) of Virgin and they have a JV for USA-LHR routes, so VS is more than a partner for DL.
