When you arrive on the hotel information from the search page, then your Points balance is taken into account and if it is less than 2000, then the message saying that you can not use points is displayed.
Thanks but that is not the root cause (I do have enought points and the problem was only happning for this specific hotel). But I figured it out! I'm from Brazil, so I was using Accor's local (Brazilian portuguese) website. I switched my acct preferences to English, and the US site is working perfectly.
